Focus and Scope

The Batticaloa Medical Journal’s goal is to promote, encourage and empower doctors, researchers and other health professionals to publish high quality research in order to promote evidence-based medicine and improve health care. Also, we attempt to cater to the educational needs especially of the postgraduate trainees. The journal publishes peer-reviewed work in all areas of Medicine. It publishes Original Research, Review Articles and Case Reports. When an article is reviewed for publication, we expect that the work it reports has not been submitted simultaneously to another journal, has not been accepted for publication elsewhere or has not already been published. All manuscripts will be reviewed anonymously before acceptance.

Publication Frequency

The Batticaloa Medical Journal publishes Biannually in May and September.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. There is no embargo on the journal’s publications. Authors of articles published transfer the copyright to the Batticaloa Medical Journal.
